God Bless Us, Every One!

Matthew 2:1-2 (New International Version)

1After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi[a] from the east came to Jerusalem 2and asked, "Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star in the east[b] and have come to worship him."

Wise men brought baby Jesus gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. Mary must have been pleased, as none of those gifts made noise. In my house, however, less-than-wise men (or woman, as the case may be) brought my children things that make MANY noises. One such case in point...my oldest son got a beautiful Alvarez guitar. Henceforth and forthwith, he's learning to play. It's akin to him learning to play the drums all over again. Loud and continuous for hours and hours. He has bloody callouses already, but pushes through the pain to play "I Walk the Line" or "Love" over and over and over and over and over and over (you get the point). I am blessed and thrilled that (a) he loves the gift, and (b) is musically inclined...but next year I might just get him something quieter...like a bucket of dynamite and a match. ;)

Enjoy some various Christmas pictures, including some with my mom and with Byron's mom...and a short video clip of him practicing tonight. Hey, if I have to listen to it, so do you. ;)

Since it's an electric acoustic guitar, you can unplug the amp you know and he can still play it :-p

Great write up.
