THS Band Spring Concert 2009

2 Chronicles 5:13
The trumpeters and singers joined in unison, as with one voice, to give praise and thanks to the LORD. Accompanied by trumpets, cymbals and other instruments, they raised their voices in praise to the LORD and sang: "He is good; his love endures forever."

Last concert of the year...and it was made especially sad by the fact that Mason is moving away in a few weeks. Our percussion ensemble is a tightly-knit group of kids who love music and play extremely well. Here's to a great year that has passed, and a great one to come in 09-10!

THS Prom 2009

Psalm 149:3 (New International Version)

3 Let them praise his name with dancing
and make music to him with tambourine and harp.

The prom, an annual rite of passage for teens everywhere, was held Saturday night at Cityplace Tower in downtown Dallas. The theme was "A Midnight Dream." I worked as a chaperone for the first shift (until 9pm) and it was really nice. The kids sure do clean up well. ;)

Solid Rock Café

Psalm 63:5 (New International Version)

5 My soul will be satisfied as with the richest of foods;
with singing lips my mouth will praise you.

The children's choirs at FBC Terrell had their spring musical last night. "The Solid Rock Café" was just amazing! These kids have worked so hard and have practiced all spring to deliver a "solid rock" performance for us. I was so proud!! We are blessed with such a talented group of youngsters as well as a group who truly loves the Lord and are not ashamed to deliver His message to the community. Way to go, kids! :)

Mother's Day Picture

Proverbs 22:6 (New International Version)

6 Train a child in the way he should go,
and when he is old he will not turn from it.

My boys let me take a picture of them together today. It's the best Mother's Day present ever! I love my sons and am so blessed to have them as my own children.

Victory

Isaiah 40:31 (New International Version)

31 but those who hope in the LORD
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.

What a great game to end the season today! Team Barcelona faced the Nitros and fought valiantly throughout the entire game. They boys really came together as a team and played well. Unfortunately, it's the final game of the season. What a way to go out, though...on a victory. Barcelona won 5-3. J.P. scored once , Miguel and Elijah scored twice each...it was just amazing. Viva Barcelona!

Happy Mother's Day!

Psalm 139:13 (New International Version)

13 For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother's womb.

Happy Mother's Day to all moms out there. Enjoy this collage of pictures from the kiddos at Project HOPE!

Viva Barcelona!

James 1:4
Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

Team Barcelona crushed the competition from Forney tonight, 10-0. They played so well! It was a real pick-me-up from last Saturday's 11-1 loss. Go team!

I took team and individual pictures for the team tonight. Here is a preview!

O-O-Oreo!

Psalm 50:11
I know every bird in the mountains, and the creatures of the field are mine.

Wow, what a difference six weeks makes...check out the size of our pet "horse" now! :)

What a storm!

Isaiah 54:11
"O afflicted city, lashed by storms and not comforted, I will build you with stones of turquoise, your foundations with sapphires.

That was quite a storm last night. The thunder, lightning, wind, hail, and round after round after round of pummeling rain was just more than many trees in the area could take. Lots of whole trees, branches, fences, and miscellaneous stuff was blown EVERYWHERE. It's going to take a few days to clear it all up.

Fortunately, we were blessed to only lose one section of fence and my windmill wound up in pieces, but those are just things. We were not injured. Like the song says, I will praise Him in this storm!!! :)
